چکیده

Abstract A susceptible–infected–susceptible (SIS) model of multiple contagions on multilayer networks is developed to incorporate different spreading channels and disease mutations. Upper lower bounds basic reproductive numbers are derived rapid mutation processes analytically analyzed. In the special case where only two considered, analytical results obtained for network model, a competition with arbitrarily many layers, compartmental model. Modeling the Spread of Multiple Concurrent Contagions on Networks

Many contagions spread over various types of communication networks and their spreading dynamics have been extensively studied in the literature. Here we propose a general model for the concurrent spread of an arbitrary number of contagions in complex networks. The model is stochastic and runs in discrete time, and includes two widely used mechanisms by which a node can change its state. The fi...

Social contagions on time-varying community networks

Time-varying community structures exist widely in real-world networks. However, previous studies on the dynamics of spreading seldom took this characteristic into account, especially those on social contagions. To study the effects of time-varying community structures on social contagions, we propose a non-Markovian social contagion model on time-varying community networks based on the activity...

Social contagions on interdependent lattice networks

Although an increasing amount of research is being done on the dynamical processes on interdependent spatial networks, knowledge of how interdependent spatial networks influence the dynamics of social contagion in them is sparse. Here we present a novel non-Markovian social contagion model on interdependent spatial networks composed of two identical two-dimensional lattices. We compare the dyna...

How Complex Contagions Spread Quickly in the Preferential Attachment Model and Other Time-Evolving Networks

In this paper, we study the spreading speed of complex contagions in a social network. A k-complexcontagion starts from a set of initially infected seeds such that any node with at least k infected neighborsgets infected. Simple contagions, i.e., k = 1, quickly spread to the entire network in small world graphs. However, fast spreading of complex contagions appears to be less lik...

Modeling the Spread of Vector-Borne Diseases on Bipartite Networks

BACKGROUND Vector-borne diseases for which transmission occurs exclusively between vectors and hosts can be modeled as spreading on a bipartite network. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS In such models the spreading of the disease strongly depends on the degree distribution of the two classes of nodes. It is sufficient for one of the classes to have a scale-free degree distribution with a slow e...
